Get all that out of games completely. Kids used to learn how make their own skins and maps if they wanted them.
Kids used to make their own sprites and scrolling routines and poke inventory values.
Well, bigger kids.
we did that kind of stuff in the elementary school computer lab. we also shimmed the outside facing door to use the computers on the weekends after opening the motion detector and stuffing paper towel in it during recess while some of the kids involved made a scene of spinning on the tire swing and barfing to pull the aide away from being able to see the door area so we could sneak in to do it.
Man, that sounds so awesome. I’m so jealous of this memory of yours.
I miss the adventures of being a kid. My group did things differently, but we still had fun. We’d play distraction with the clerk at the gas station and steal 40s to take to an abandoned strip mine and drink. We had a spot where we made chairs from stones and we could hide there all day and just be ourselves. We also had a small cave about 7 ft deep behind a waterfall where we’d hide to party. We had a derailed coal train cart that dammed up a spot in the creek. We could sit up on the side of it and fish or we could go down to the island that formed inside of it and hang out with our girlfriends.
One time a buddy and I were competing for a girl’s attention and he jumped from the train cart into the mud below on the back side. He hit a bucket in the mud and required stitches from his ankle to his knee. “I’m sorry angryseal, I like you, but he really hurt himself for me.” She was his girlfriend that summer. :p I made that girl mixtape after mixtape and became a master of Mortal Kombat so she’d love me. Learned guitar and wrote my first song to impress her.
I loved my life, but I’d love to have stayed with a cousin one weekend in some alternate past of mine and sneaked into that school with you guys haha.
No we didn’t. At most, a handful of games allowed map making like starcraft and command and conquer, and grand theft auto. Making your own skins was never a thing. You’d create, at best, a custom badge or avatar. Skins were always unlocks from finding easter eggs or achievements.
I guess my life never existed.
It did not. You never played Quake or Unreal Tournament and made your own skins. You never dabbled in map making for any of these games or games in the Doom engine. Nobody ever made skins for minecraft Java. Your life is a lie.

I also did not learn coding by reading quakec and adding homing missiles or cluster grenades.

everyone I know with kids has no idea what a vile platform roblox is and was inclined to just buy the shit to make the kids stop whining. some of them cut it off when I sent videos detailing what is wrong with it. some didn’t care but totally coincidentally they are the ones that said they would have voted trump if they were usa-icans.
really any game with real money transaction should be considered gambling and restricted. gacha and fomo should add more restrictions on top of that. the level of explotation, abuse, and creepy pedo shit in roblox should get it shut down ten times over.
