Re-using old silicon means that dropping “old” GPUs can affect “new” products.

      sort of. the win-gfx kernel mode driver is the crux of the issue here, and the reason the packaging has recently split. The user mode drivers on windows are still shared across all of RDNA though, so there’s some hope.

    Still supported in legacy devices branch it seems.

    Probably they will release a few updates to quiet down the masses and in 6 months time drop down the releases from month to two months and then tree months and poof no more drivers
