Why do people hate it? I switched to apple around when Tahoe came out and have a iphone for work. I think it looks great. I don’t know much about how it looked before, my last apple device before that was iphone 5. I think liquid glass keeps things minimal but also doesn’t make every menu a plain boring solid color. Maybe it’s harder to read if you have poor vision, which makes it objectively worse?? but my vision is fine so no problems for me.
Poor readability. It has nothing to do with poor vision, your brain is just likely better at filling in the gaps in its poor design. It’s a shame, because I do like the aesthetic - the idea of it, I just think the execution could be better.
Thing is, for readability’s sake, the cool flashy design elements got reduced so much between announcement and release, that the design is utterly boring now. Makes it completely unnecessary. Looks almost the same as before…

Low contrast, inefficient use of space, slower to recognize expected functionally at a glance.
