Looking at the completely undesirable and incomprehensible bits of reality is bad for the psyche if you think that death is inevitable. Otherwise you’re just looking for clues.

I’ve found that trying to find a girlfriend is futile. I’m 45 and have girlfriends whenever I want to deal with that level of drama and commitment.

The trick is to go out and find groups that are also into your hobbies. If you are actively improving yourself to get better at a hobby seems to be attractive to everyone, though I will admit that far more homosexual or bisexual guys hit on me than women, unless I should count the compliments I get, those come from women more often than men, but I don’t know how to gracefully receive a compliment. My standard response is “Thanks, umm [insert something complimentary towards the person in question.]”

The only thing that seems to be more attractive than my previous advise is to be wearing a wedding band. That comes with problems you don’t want to deal with though.

They don’t mix in nicotine, no need for all of that when MSG exists. They do mix in MSG to the meats and cheeses. Pretty much all fast food does, because it makes it addictive, and tasty.

My wizard went the opposite direction. She acquired a Potion of Heal, and mixed it with a Philosopher’s Stone. My DM ruled that would make a Potion of Eternal Youth. She was eternally 17 years 10 months old. Was absolutely great because frequently people vastly underestimated her. She was also an 18th level wizard/dweomersmith by the time she drank the potion.

Shame SAAB went away. No one beat them on longevity. Volvo comes close, but even they don’t have hundreds of cars with 2,000,000 miles on the odometer. SAAB hasn’t made a car since 2011 and keeps adding cars to the list.

9 years not 11, just seems like a lot longer. Almost 10 at this point I guess.

That is basically the same reason that conservatives have been able to sell the lie that government programs are inefficient compared to the dictatorship of corporations. You don’t hear anything about the vast majority of government programs, because they work. You only hear about the ones that got corruption and greed mixed in, because those can be called wasteful. In reality most government programs are far more efficient than any corporation could hope to be.
