  • GUI users = low skill ✅

Majority GUI a weak subset and of little use ✅

    Elitism ✅

Of course, this is all couched in “use what you like”, and top it off with a general sentiment of how this post is all but useless.

If someone has to ask you for your git fu help the problem isn’t GUI use it’s the incompetence and/or inability to solve it yourself. Implying a strong correlation of the two is where I take issue.

My personal experience? A built in GUI saves you so much time like the one in JetBrains IntelliJ, if I need something more use case oriented that is more than the core fn (intelliJ’s does not simply include fetch/push/pull, but much more including everything in the graphic) then I click terminal tab and do what I need. Similarly the git tree provides an immediate view and context of the branches, changes, tags etc.

It’s almost like filtering people into GUI and CLI boxes doesn’t really work.

  • now with it turning out the Democrats and Republicans are traitors to the Republic

excuse me? Please point us to the D traitors. If you’re talking about the two assassination attempts, one was from a maga family and spoke heavily of maga support in school and the other voted for T in 2016 and has made political donations to both R and D, in addition to being very clearly mentally ill.

Where are the Ds stealing and refusing to give back the most confidential docs possible (such as our nuclear sub capabilities and numbers…), where are the Ds deciding they don’t like election results and spread lies about cheating whilst losing 50+ court cases (some of which appointed by T or R party) because all of them had no standing/evidence. Where are the Ds interrupting the peaceful transfer of power for the first time ever in the history of the nation? Where are the Ds spreading hateful lies about certain minority groups acting like animals and eating other people’s pets? Where are the Ds who continue to rape and defame women while trying to take away their bodily autonomy so they can bleed out in the parkinglot while the doctor waits for the legal window where they can actually try to keep the pregnant miscarrying woman alive?

ah right, those are all REPUBLICAN traitors. FUCK off with your both-sides strawman bullshit, fascist bootlicker.

  • Seriously… Who gives a fuck if a good thing is being done because it makes someone money vs making someone happy? At the end of the day, the good thing happened. That’s a win. We live in a capitalist society, this should be a very common concept good or not.

Like seriously, who gives a shit if rainbow capitalism was for making money? It absolutely helped at least some (if not many) people feel seen and accepted.

“I would take this vaccine but someone created it because it would make them money so I’m critical”

In what world does that make sense??? As long as you understand WHY they do what they do (thus keeping yourself from being convinced they actually do care lmao), then its all good and take advantage of the good thing as it happens.

  • Waking up everyday wondering what batshit crazy thing he had either just said or was going to say that day. It was exhausting.

For you? Yeah it was exhausting, you poor piece of shit. For the media? It was the best goddamn four years of their lives. Every morning the people would rush to see what insane shit he did that day and the news media farmed the FUCK outta them clicks.

Not that the CBS executive chairman and CEO might vote for the Republican presidential frontrunner, but he likes the ad money Trump and his competitors are bringing to the network.

“It may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS,” he said of the presidential race.

Moonves called the campaign for president a “circus” full of “bomb throwing,” and he hopes it continues.

“Most of the ads are not about issues. They’re sort of like the debates,” he said.

“Man, who would have expected the ride we’re all having right now? … The money’s rolling in and this is fun,” he said.

They desperately want to drag us back

  • straphangers

What the hell, I’ve NEVER heard or read this word in my entire life.

The first known use of straphanger was in 1896. Defined as a standing passenger in a subway, streetcar, bus, or train who clings for support to one of the short straps or similar devices placed along the aisle

I guess that might explain part of that… but I’m seeing consisntent uses from merriam webster’s recent examples on the web for the word.

Strangely enough there is a military alternative definition:

“Straphanger” seems to have a different, and negative connotation in current US military parlance. Since this is a militarily-oriented movie, it is probably the definition that applies.

In an article unrelated to Zero Dark Thirty, I found a reference to strap hangers.

"We have a saying in the SEAL Teams about the 90-10 rule. It goes: 90% of the guys that make it through Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training are solid Operators and go on to do great things. The other 10% are constantly bringing the community and their team down. We are always trying to cull the 10% out of the herd. In the military these guys are commonly referred to as “strap hangers”....grabbing at the straps of the good men that participated in this operation."
