It actually is a problem in my semi rural town. There is a small city ~15 miles away with a lot more resources and there’s a handful of homeless who won’t go there, even when there’s a blizzard.

Many areas in the u.s. are spread out pretty far. If the office isn’t open when I get off of work then I can’t pick it up. There’s a lot of post offices, even small towns have one, so that’s not such a big deal. Amazon, FedEx, and UPS offices are few and far between. I couldn’t even tell you where I found pick up one of their packages in my area.

I ship quite a few things and I only use USPS and UPS. I also use pirate ship, which only has those two anyway, but I won’t use FedEx for a number of reasons.

You could decentralize user accounts so that they aren’t attached to any instance, or at least the account owner can move their account from one instance to another.

It should be mandatory to stagger it by lottery. That way there’s only ~20% of people off on the same day and you can enjoy your day more. I hate going out on weekends because of all of the extra people who are out. Being off on weekdays is great for the most part.
