I have personally mapped some ungodly terrible sidewalks, they look truly hideous on the map, because they are hideous in real life.

6·5 months agoHas anyone gotten this to work? I have both the SN30 Pro and the Pro 2, both display the latest firmware update as 2.06 which just lists Switch 2 compatibility. Steam doesnt seem to recognize the back buttons on the Pro 2 either.

Hey everyone
We’re really sorry to say this, but lemm.ee will be shutting down on June 30, 2025. What you need to know
As of now:
New user registrations are disabled Creating new communities is disabledWhat you should do:
You can export your settings at https://lemm.ee/settings to take them with you to another instance. If you’re moving to another instance, consider adding a note to your lemm.ee profile with your new username. Your old profile will still be visible from other instances even after we go offline. Alternatively, if you want to delete your lemm.ee profile, now is the best time to do it, so the deletion can federate out before we go offline. If you’re one of the folks supporting us with a recurring donation, please remember to cancel it (Ko-Fi donations should have been cancelled automatically already). Our leftover funds are already enough to cover our bills for next month, so we can keep things running without any more support.Because of how Lemmy is built, everything posted on lemm.ee will still be accessible from other instances, even after we go offline. Why this is happening
The key reason is that we just don’t have enough people on the admin team to keep the place running. Most of the admin team has stepped down, mostly due to burnout, and finding replacements hasn’t worked out.
The sad reality is that while there are a lot of great people on Lemmy, there are also some who use the platform to attack others, stir up conflict, or actively try to undermine the project. Admins are volunteers who deal with the latter group on a constant basis, this takes a mental toll. Please understand why our admins chose to step down, and be kind to the admins on whatever instance you decide to join.
We know this sucks. We’re genuinely sorry it’s ending like this. Thank you to everyone who spent time here and helped make it better.

I haven’t seen the news release, but I would hope they are explaining those terms because they are going to have someone on to talk about github and they were planning on using said terms

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's something you once had a lot of respect for but now have no respect for?English
432·6 months agoA certain elongated muskrat comes to mind. I love space so the thought of a reusable rocket to make space affordable was awesome. I also believe that electric cars are the future, and tesla did make pretty good charging standard and help to “prove” the concept. But now I just hope he somehow winds up dirt poor, and irrelevant. Just oh, my, god

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there an easy way to remotely monitor another person's pulse?
8·6 months agoTo add to this iirc all cell towers will take 911 calls even if a phone has no sim. So if you truly only will ever use it for 911. You should be able to buy the cellular version of the watch and not even have to add it to your phone plan.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Will kernel-level anti-cheat ever work on linux?English
10·6 months agoAFAIK the current anticheat systems on Linux only run in userspace not at kernel level. This does mean Linux is theoretically easier to bypass compared to windows, some games just dont seem to want to take that risk. For as you said 3% of the market.
I personally disagree with that stance though, because all it takes is a hardware device and all software anticheats are useless no matter the os (think a raspberry pi, and capture card). So anticheat is really a losing battle anyways.

I really like the ethos of Florisboard, but their spell check is just not in a state that makes it usable for me.
