I’ve been there myself. The smarty who thinks he knows everything. Giving people advice about stuff I knew nothing about. “I understand.”

Man was I a moron sometimes.

Probably still am on occasion.

Radical idea. What about paying everyone the same, Janitor and CEO? That would truly value everyone’s hard work, regardless of which work it is.

But that would take a shift in how we perceive work and what we work for.

Trust me, raising kids is magnitudes harder.

Good advice. Haven’t tried that yet. Will definitely give that a go.

We try that, it’s just that he hurts family (scratches, bites) while they wait for him to notice that this isn’t fun. So that becomes a bit problematic and sits at the core of our problem.

We also try to burn off energy in other ways, thinking that maybe he needs that. He definitely gets enough attention.
