I am not holding my breath for any of the zionist parties in this country to do the right thing. They were all willing to go along and cover the palestinian genocide, anyone who believes that they are willing to help has not been paying attention. And even if, your vote does so much less than your money or your labor could.
It’s a blackmail for Spain’s stance against Israel while also pouring gasoline on the resurfacing fascism in europe. The way to blunt that, as citizens, would be to not play their game wherein this is a threat but to help the people that are getting used in such a disgusting way.

You have to dream bigger. It’s possible to organise aid for refugees in Ceuta right now, it needs people and aid organisations, not parties looking for election. There’s a lot of stuff that needs to be done “back home” in order to send helpers someplace else. Voting every couple years is not going to fix anything. You can get engaged or donate to organisations right now and don’t have to contend yourself with remaining passive.

Helping people in Europe, is FAR more expensive than helping people people in their own home countries.
We can help far, far, far more people by building infrastructure where it is needed, rather than move the persons needing help into Europe.
Ok but over here in the real world that isn’t happening hence the refugees. Also we aren’t “moving people into Europe” they are already here or coming of their own accord (or in this case likely with the help of the US and the zionist entity). How would you propose helping them?
Europe’s resources are not endless, lets help as many people as we can with the resources we have.
Well we aren’t living off our own resources but extracting them from other countries, hence all the poverty there creating the refugees.
Helping where the help is needed also means that people won’t have to die trying to cross a sea, so we save even more people that way.

What do you do if “against” is not on the ballot? In my country for instance there is no party that opposes the palestinian genocide except a few very fringe ones. So should I swallow my conscience and just vote?
Or should I demonstrate, vote for one of the fringe parties, make the people that are supposed to represent me know what my values are? Because I’d die of shame if people could actually claim that our zionist government represented me.
Turning in a blank ballot is also a valid form of protest, but protesters have to make sure that their demands are known. Otherwise a protest is pointless.
The people who won’t stay home on election day are conservative voters, and even though electoral reform shouldn’t be a partisan issue I guarantee the Conservatives would never move to implement it.
There are a lot of conservatives that stay home because they are disappointed or don’t see a point to it. Doomerism is kind of a conservative thing.
Why?? Seems like using the only power you have over the politicians (to vote or not vote for them) is about the best thing you can do to get what you want within the confines of the system.
It would need a lot of organizing and campaigning. The main action wouldn’t be withholding the vote but the organizing behind a cohesive message. You (as a collective) would have to agree on what exactly are your demands and be loud about it.
I agree that lesser evilism will only ever lead to more and more evil candidates as long as the other candidate is more evil, but reversing that course is going to be tough.
