Well, if that slop is what you were eating, I can understand why you would despise it.

I kinda like to be able to taste the vegetables and/or meat. I find it’s always way too much overpowering spice, everything tastes the same or it’s just slathered in sauces

I’ve tried many times to enjoy it. Haven’t found anything I like. Maybe all the places near me suck big time, but there is a huge presence of Indian residents here so I’m not sure.

Chili really REALLY depends on how it tastes, but typically I don’t eat it. I make ‘asian Chili’ and enjoy that. Mince, hoisin, oyster sauce, specific soy (sweet) and some Thai Chili’s, mushrooms etc… probably the chili that I enjoy. Usually it’s just a food but doesn’t do anything for me.

Like, I don’t find the foods revolting and I know there’s nothing wrong with them. I’ll still eat them situation depending, but I get zero enjoyment out of eating it. Maybe despise is a bit harsh of a word?
