    Love Simon Stalenhag and the Tales From The Loop adaptation…but goddamn, does Chris Pratt need to be cast in fuckin everything now? Does the beautiful and thought-provoking work of Stalenhag really have to be Marvelized?

    I knew this was in production and was looking forward to it but now that I see who is making it, I’ve mostly lost interest. I want a slow movie that makes me think about stuff, not some boilerplate action adventure with comedy in it…which I’m unfortunately thinking this will be

      Well, to be fair, the Russo brothers also shot the first few seasons of community. They signed onto the big marvel movies and made a name for themselves in that realm, but they can do funny and heartwarming and good too.

        I don’t hate the Russo brothers but if the trailer is any indication, it’s a completely different vibe than the source material. The cinematography, the music, the casting… It’s just so big budget Hollywood.

        It’s in stark contrast to the trailer for Tales From The Loop which nails the vibe of Stalenhag’s art. The show was about people living in a sci-fi world and this trailer feels like a sci-fi movie with people in it
