People have set themselves on fire and it didn’t change a thing. More effective measures seem appropriate. It needs to affect the people responsible.

    40 day fast

So this isn’t a hunger strike. This is weak-ass bullshit that—as you can see—did little more than thoughts and prayers. She got an article. Great. An actual hunger strike ends in death. It’s a time bomb. It gives the other party time to decide if they want to let you die.

And before any of you cry about what I’m “doing,” name a single thing I could do to end the war in Gaza and I’ll go do it. Otherwise shut up.

I don’t really see why any of the people in power would care if this person had starved themselves to death. I don’t understand what the perceived leverage was here.

The people in power might care if it gets in the news. Be careful not to succumb to learned helplessness and nihilism, that’s what authoritarian regimes want.

Become an extremely skilled superassasin and start taking out politically powerful bad people?

A bit much to ask, I think. But I think it could make a difference.

You could use the immense amount of privilege you have (being in the top 3.5% of people in the world with food, water and electricity) to lobby your government. And if you’re feeling so inspired as your angry clearly shows, why don’t you run for government yourself.

Go touch some grass instead of criticising someone doing something

Considered lobbying the government as a single human. Went to work instead since I cannot dine on privilege and need to eat.

Your math is wrong sweetheart. You are angry that I was born into a country that currently is on top. However, As we have noticed that is quickly becoming not the case. I had nothing to do with that.

I understand your anger, but it should be directed at her and not me. She is literally doing this for a headline. I would be happy to make a friendly wager that she attempts to make money on this by doing speaking engagements or perhaps writing a book.

Did you read enough to know that she was participating in a group organized “hunger strike” (whatever you want to call it, idrc) and that she was arrested for her protesting? Lmfao if you’re just gonna sit around and do nothing about it, then at least keep your mouth shut, too.

Everyone gets “arrested” and then let go. A group of people went on a diet. Wow. Amazing.

I’m actually doing as much right now as she did. And next week, the world will not even remember her.

            Why don’t YOU do something?

I’m not telling you to do something, I’m saying that this person is demonstrably doing more than you, and that is an objective fact. 🥱

Walking outside today had as much impact as what she did. 🥹 She’s gonna write a book next. Go on the tour circuit. Good times. Maybe I should do some diet and exercise for Gaza. We can make it a YouTube channel. The Gaza Diet. It’s just where you’re hungry for at least an hour before you get to drink water and have saltines.

Well, he’s doing what he said he’d be doing, so no one should be surprised he’s killing people and depriving others of their rights while meddling in the affairs of others. Wonder if they feel any remorse.

Sure. Wait until it hits medicaid, medicare and social security. Never mind human rights, prices of domestic and consumer goods, education and the environment. You’re gonna love it, unless you’re american.
