Apparently the previous owner of my current phone number gave his phone number to a lot of gambling sites and now i recieve spam SMSes DAILY. Do i need to get a new line? Or is there some secret way i can get my phone number out of nobody knows how many sites?
(The number is from turkey, if that helps.)
Get SpamBlocker on F-Droid. Incredibly powerful, flexible.
Do you use the phone number - that is, do you receive legitimate calls on it? If not, turn off the ringer. If the answer is “from people I know”, set it up to silence calls from non-contacts. Over time the noise will diminish.
If you get calls from people you don’t know, then change it; it’s probably not worth the hassle.
Get a new number from a privacy respecting carrier that will not sell you immidiately, but even after that spammers will send messages to random numbers occasionally anyway.
