So I have ‘just started reading’. After a lifetime of being dyslexic and thinking I disliked books, I’ve realised that if I find something in my wheel house and with a little perseverance of getting over the inital hump, I’m really enjoying it. However a few months after reading a book, I’ve kind of forgotten the finer points and details I enjoyed. Does anyone write up books they’ve read and what tips have you got/do you have any templates?

I’m the other way, am 61 and a prodigious reader from school age but I often wonder why bother ? I can’t remember the book i read in January, let alone 5, 10 or 40 years ago, it becomes a form of brain rot I think?
I’m thinking of picking like 50 books and reading and rereading ad infinitum until i really understand them, so far I have not been brave enough to commit haha
The question becomes: are you forgetting because of the volume; or because of the quality?
Because finding wonderful, rare gems of books that etch their words upon your heart - those memories do last a lifetime.
