That’s actually worse, imo. Like, the fact that we’re getting fascist results from status quo Joe doesn’t mean he’s a fascist, it’s just a sign of how bad the status quo has grown to be, and a big part of that is because assholes say disgusting fascist crap openly and normalize fascist viewpoints and behavior*. If the choice does come down to giving Israel bombs to drop on hungry toddlers either way, it is better if it’s being done with a furrowed brow instead of a shit eating grin.
*And this goes back way before Trump. Like, the fact that 9/11 got us torturing and suspending due process rights and dropping bombs on innocent people was not an isolated incident and it’s not something we’ve moved past, and that’s just a recent high point. This all goes back to Goldwater and Nixon at least.
