    Maybe. Nevertheless, characterizing heroin and opium as social lubricants sounds insane to me, even if the core thought (not every substance use habit is a problem to solve) is valid.

      Yeah, I never felt particularly sociable when I was on the nod, though I sometimes did it in company.

      But that was heroin. Opium is another kettle of fish, despite their chemical kinship.
