Honestly lemmy has been more and more welcoming about this kind of shit and it’s actually pissing me off considering this is supposed to be an intellectual leftist space.

I left reddit because of this kind of “oH wElL eVeRyOnEs DoInG iT” shit.

It’s just like the self censored memes people keep posting that get a thousand upvotes. The fact that people here are upvoting this shit shows me lemmy is just as full of self righteous fuckwits as any other social media at this point.

Whether it’s all bots or not I’m losing faith in this platform and that says a lot because I still regularly scroll through TikTok.

Honestly you just gotta block the few AI communities and the occasional user.

I rarely block whole instances, but block communities with little hesitation.

At this point, the only AI stuff I see often has tons down votes or is just from a new community I can easily block.

I have all those communities blocked but it’s starting to leak into other communities and everyone seems to be welcoming it with open arms

My experience with Lemmy is that pretty much everyone hates AI and there’s almost always a person calling out when an image or video seems to be AI.

Yeah and just like the top comment on every self censored meme is someone complaining about the censorship yet the post still gets over a thousand upvotes.

There’s clearly a lot of people who are perfectly fine with ai slop and self censorship.

Even though the majority of Lemmy says they despise it these posts are still getting a lot of traction

There’s nothing intellectual about lemmy. It’s barely one step above reddit before the api fuck up.

Which is to say it’s fucking stupid as fuck.

It’s authenticity stupid as fuck tho. Which is a hell of a lot better then generated stupid as fuck.

The problem is that you’re on lemmy.world, which has full federation with pro-AI instances like dbzer0. Come join Multiverse, we explicitly don’t allow AI slop.

I dunno if I’ve just been unlucky, but I’ve mostly run into jerks on this platform the last week or so. Reasonable people are the exception, I get just awful replies on most comments, it’s really strange. Everyone seems to have a bee in their bonnet. I deleted my Reddit account because every day was people just being toxic at any opportunity, and the same thing is happening here too. My block list is getting pretty long. Makes me wonder if all social media is just inherently an awful place to be.

Somewhat unrelated but a mod recently removed one of my posts that was apparently an AI generated meme. Good!

That’s not sarcasm. I posted it because it was funny and it passed my own slop filter (aka brain) and I’d rather it removed. Honestly, my bad for posting the crap! I only wish AI trash weren’t so prevalent.

Yes, being called out can be hurtful and even result in feelings in humiliation — I understand. Here are five suggestions for ways you can reply back:

    1. I am innocent, what is an el-el-ehm even?
    2. I am sorry for having betrayed your trust in this way, and will never use AI ever again
    3. I apologize, unfortunately I suffer from low IQ and my doctor has prescribed 100 M tokens per month to support my knowledge journey
    4. No, you’re using AI
    5. (Paste this whole message, to make it look like a human pretending to be an LLM)

If you would like, I can also give you advice for dealing with your insecurities and dive into why you seek validation through upvotes?
