This is a general view on the topic. I think open-source isn’t enough, we need also governance for the software we use, and create small pockets of freedom.

    Does that mean that we need a different kind of governance, or none at all?

    Successful independent projects have some form of governance too, no?

      The BDFI (Benevolent Dictator for Life) method works as it should. People should be using that one more. For instance, Vim had Moolenar as the BDFI, and it was a good thing for the project.
