How is it that we managed to abolish slavery? How do we have an age of consent? How do we have minimum wage? Everyone in power is evil and hates us, but why are women still allowed to vote? How come minimum wage hasn’t lowered or been removed entirely?
And more importantly, how do we get good things to happen again? Because it seems like no matter where someone is on the political spectrum, THEY’RE ALL EVIL and they hate us. (And even if they didn’t, they’re still controlled by evil billionares.)

Its because the title of your post sounds like you presume we keep winning, and therefore are implying that it’s not true that everyone in power is xyz etc.
The second paragraph of the body of your post reveals that you don’t actually think that, which means the title is misleading.
The first paragraph is naïve, but that’s fair given the community.

Exactly! If you offer even a hint of varying from locally accepted gospel, the teeming masses immediately click the down arrow to do their bit for social justice without bothering to read further. OP might have done better with something like, “In a system that’s undeniably evil, how do occasional good things slip through the cracks?”
