The future Reddit users are AI agents, being exposed to ads created by “Agent Engine Optimization” experts. The AI users might automatically trade tokens (the future of currency) to Agentic Entities for the service being advertised. Humans have no place and will continue to be banned.

“We’ll have robots! Robots to do the product placement, robots to tell them how to think, robots to tell them which political candidate to vote for. We don’t need these human users - they complain a lot and, believing they’re come to the site to socialise or learn, they frequently disappoint when it comes to those three core strategies.”

“But who will do the shopping, the thinking, and the voting?”

“Why, the robots, of course! They’ve been doing a lot of these things for some years now, and quite successfully too. Which is why my tech portfolio is up and trump is president.”

“Hmm. When you put it like that, I guess we don’t need humans at all.”

“Alas, there are some areas where the tech isn’t quite there yet. Remember Sarah complaining about the state of the ladies bathrooms the other day? ‘An abomination of blood, shit, and hair’ I believe she called it. The robots just aren’t ready for that, we had to call that immigrant fellow from maintenance. Still, give the tech another couple of years and I imagine we can get rid of him, too.”
