You’re severely underestimating the emiseration that happened under capitalism. Yes, peasant work is hard work. But living standards for the proletariat plummeted during the industrial revolution. Peasants didn’t have 14 hour shifts in the factories.

And you conflate technological progress with capitalism.

Also: if your environment can sustain a hunter-gatherer mode of production, you actually have quite a lot of leisure time.
