National Guard troops seized Anna King, slamming her to the ground and leaving her with injuries that required surgery, according to a federal tort claim
A retired U.S. Army captain and Iraq War veteran is taking legal action after National Guard troops approached her outside her Washington, D.C. home, pushed her to the ground and detained her in an aggressive, caught-on-camera confrontation.
Anna King, who received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for her service, was cornered on her front porch by three National Guard troops on the evening of May 8.
“Get away from me right now,” King can be heard telling the guards in footage taken on a Ring security camera. “You have absolutely no authority to detain me.”
Footage shared by the ACLU of the District of Columbia shows King trying to go inside her home as the men, three Idaho National Guard members, grab King and force her to the ground as she screams for them to get off her.
As an American, fuck the troops.
This. Get some taste of your own medicine. Coming to crush people around the globe, and then expecting to sit quietly on a patio in peace back home - what could be more hypocritical?
But also, the story is most importantly of abuse of power that can and does affect civilians.

Which I pointed out. The real problem is that National Guard abuses power to crush dissent, and this will absolutely affect civilians. So, I still hope they will be persecuted.
But at the same time, I came to support the statement above with my own take. I have zero compassion to military folks, especially US veterans serving abroad (which she is, having served in Iran - read up on what British, Russian and US troops did there, even outside of what happens now). They knew what they subscribe to, and yet they chose to proceed anyway. It is because of people like her that the world has seen so much pain and suffering. I hope they never find peace, and their glorification sickens me to the core.
It’s actually because of the dipshits in charge. But, yeah, blame the grunts who went into the military bcz they’re poor and have been subjected to a lifetime of propaganda.

Which drags on to today. Military folks are honored, and being a vet is seen as a badge of honor, not of shame. Would young folk see it differently when joining the military makes you a pariah?
Well, I didn’t join the military, and I’m not exactly young anymore, so I can’t comment. But my siblings, who also grew up in poverty both joined the military, despite me telling them not too bcz of how extreme the contracts are that you sign. Basically, you’re a number. But, you know that.
Poverty makes people do wild things. It’s an incredible weapon wielded by the rich.
I absolutely agree that joining the military is a crazy choice, and yet, propaganda works and desperation does unfortunate things to our instincts.
I thought the custom was to fuck their wives while they’re on deployment.
