California is currently one of only three states in the country — alongside Mississippi and New Mexico — that sets no minimum age at all for marriage, allowing a child of any age to be legally wed as long as a parent or guardian signs off. A bill designed to close that loophole for good just cleared a major hurdle in Sacramento, passing the state Senate on a unanimous 38-0 vote this past Wednesday.

My point is that you can’t use the same kind of hate to prop up your own narrative while condemning someone else’s. Saying that fundamentalist Christians are giving their children in marriage to pedophiles is an untrue, sweeping statement.

And that’s not even what he was saying. You’re making up a position for him to support your own argument, much like the people you apparently criticize for doing the exact same thing you’re doing right now.

I’m not the OP, I’m not the one talking about child-marriage. Thus why I’m basing my distaste for fundies on the things I said above.

And yet your rhetoric, argument, and general attitude is identical to op.

I know that you’re not op.
