There’s a saying about Yorkshire folk, probably invented by rival Northerners, but could just as easily have been a self-deprecation:

“Yorkshire born and Yorkshire bred; Strong in t’ arm and weak in t’ 'ead.”

I think we’ve found the Yorkshireman the saying was about.
