You do know that the literal largest country on the planet (also very cold and snowy) is criss-crossed by rail and has excellent public transit in many cities? Most Moscow/St Petersburg dwellers I know don’t have/need/want a car, don’t even have a driver’s license, and some of them travel around the country regularly. There is also a growing number of bike lane networks in cities, especially in the south of the country (on comparable latitudes to GTA, BTW). If russia can pull it off so can you, stop falling for car propaganda.

I just want to point out that it’s in the cities that are build the bicycle infras, not to cross a entire country.
