That’s probably the best outcome, considering a virus is masquerading as a GTA6 demo.

Personally, I’d rather just play Saints Row 3 again. I just did 100% runs on Saints Row IV and Gat Out of Hell. All three of them are incredibly stupid games (only the first two Saints Row games seriously tried to take on GTA), but they are also incredibly fun, and that’s what keeps me coming back.

I never got the hate for Saints rows 3, 4 and gat. 3 starts to take things a lot less seriously, but 4 and gat are incredibly fun and stupid sandboxes even if they don’t take anything seriously.

I think people just wanted Saints Row to be an off-brand Grand Theft Auto, even though GTA was basically not really doing anything wrong (by the time Saints Row: The Third came out, Grand Theft Auto was no longer PlayStation exclusive). So I thought it was fine that Saints Row went out and found its own voice.

Then there was Crackdown which Saints Row (particularly the fourth one with the skill orbs) leaned into. I should play Crackdown again. Similar thing with superpowers, but it had a trick the others didn’t. Each island/region had a boss you had to kill, and each boss had several lieutenants you could optionally kill, and killing them would weaken some aspect of the boss’s gang empire — his cars, his weapons, things like that. I remember melee being super useful, like you could punch or kick a guy across a park or something.

My main issue with 4 was the powers kinda trivialize things and make vehicles obsolete. Yes, I know I can still drive and customize cars, but what’s the point when I can clear half the city in 2 super jumps? None of the crazy weapons are worth using when you can just stomp or make tornadoes by sprinting. I still had fun with 4, but late game got old kinda fast compared to 3.

Having played 2, 3, and 4, I found 3 hit the sweet spot where things were zany, but not too over the top.
