I have no way to prove to you I don’t hate autistic people, and that (incorrect, unjustified) conclusion of yours is colouring your entire assessment of what I’m saying, so there’s not much point trying to rebut most of what you said.

If you can’t see how the OP’s caption might lead some people to think that enjoyment of geometry and patterns means you’re autistic, then I can’t help you further. I will just - gently - reiterate that an actual autistic trait is a difficulty holding in mind multiple interpretations of the same thing. I’m not saying you’re wrong in your interpretation, I’m saying that another one exists and its consequences can’t be ignored just because of the intended one.

I think gay people also have a responsibility not to mislead, but I don’t think any homophobic rhetoric focuses on misinformation - I guess you’re taking about people who’d have gay people not talk about being gay, in case it “corrupts the youth”, but this is very different; there is nothing wrong with accurately representing autism (or homosexuality). There is something wrong with inaccurately representing it.
