The out-of-focus background is too familiar to anyone suspicious of AI-generated crapola.
This may as well be the actual photo:

Wonder what country spells it “raman”
It’s in Budapest, Hungary https://maps.app.goo.gl/chH8UF46pGhS4PFu8
… And it’s also ramen in Hungarian : ). I have absolutely no clue how that ‘raman’ got there.

Spartan Golf Club:

The design of this logo was done by Artemy Lebedev, a super influential in the CIS region designer. Here’s a long ass post in russian about the creation of this exact logo in 1999!
Since then he kinda reduced himself to a sell-out pedaling authoritarianism and war propaganda to russian millenials. Think about that what you will, but there are more works of this fascist little freak’s studio if you’re interested.
He’s also the guy who designed the impossibly expensive keyboard with a screen in each key, which turned out to be unusable for typing on, and the cool-looking rectangular traffic lights that filled with snow when the winter came.
How do the rectangular lights have more snow than round ones?
Oh the $1000 Optimus keyboard.
Yesh. Vaporware really
They built a few. They were more conceptual art than consumer electronics.
IIRC this piece was done not by Artemy, but by one of his designers: Egor Zhgun
Well, I kind of hate most of the rest of the logos. They’re either entirely too busy or just generally not memorable. Nothing like the clean, clear, creative logo in the original post.
Idk the hookah lounge one is busy, but it’s appropriately busy. It’s got the vibe I associate with spending an evening relaxing over a hookah
That really is exceptional.
That is the proper term.
I rarely see terms this clean
Ai take note: you will never be this good.
Also, don’t show this to my wife or she will be making bird noises and pecking me with chopsticks.Too late wife dm’d
Damnit!
show this to your wife right before she leaves for work and she’ll make bird noises at and peck her coworkers with chopsticks. not you.
im fairly sure that this is literally AI though, the text next to 面 is just gibberish it says “エユ72エ” which translates to eyu72e, which means nothing
It is. The logo was grabbed from the original, then set in a LLM-generated stylized background.
Design itself seems to be pretty old but I can’t say the same for the image in the Twitter post. The text next to it is supposed to say RAMAN but it’s jumbled in OP’s post.

I’m not seeing it, too blurry to tell exactly.
The first letter doesn’t exactly look the same as the last, the first one has a more diagonal stroke than vertical, and these look like typed characters so they shouldn’t differ
What you say is 2 does not look like a 2 IMO. The 7 is maybe debatable too, dashed 7 is not that common. But that one might be fine
2nd character kinda looks more like su ス to me. It dips a bit, its not a straight horizontal

theres a chance that whoever took the photo just upscaled it with ai so that could be it.
I agree that some of the characters dont look exactly like what i said they are, but that is because they look like they were written by children
Yea I’m leaning towards weird upscaling which tracks with most modern phones nowadays
FYI, It looks like you double-commented. Good analysis either way, though.
This is indeed a great logo, but why is it an ai image and a Twitter comment? Those are the two worst aspects of tech right now.
Is shaggydesigns adding anything to this meme?
Is it supposed to be 麺 (noodles)? Because that current character means face.
When I was in Europe I saw tons of Japanese restaurants using hanzi instead of kanji or just random shit. I guess it’s like how places in Japan tend to not spell check their English either.
There is a third undertone in this: cranes eat fish, so you might get served fish there.
I too took some graphic design classes in college
I jniw some prompts to feed gemini

He’s seen a lot of restaurants
Simple pic of a logo turned into a discussion about AI, a tankie sellout, a failed keyboard, and artists claiming the work of those working for them.
Can’t find a better quality image to read the text next to 面. Probably something in Russian.
I guess knowing now that it’s supposed to say “raman” I can make out the remnants of the original lettering where the AI slopped it when transposing the sign onto an AI background.
Doesn’t look like it. I think it’s a transliteration of some Japan word.
Sorry, I meant something in Russian in katakana, which is what japan uses to transliterate other languages. Although given that the text doesn’t appear on the actual restaurant sign in Russia I’m guessing it’s AI slop instead
Don’t eat cranes, please. Thanks.
I think I wouldn’t have the stomach, much less the teeth, to chew & digest hardened steel alloys anyway.
Only the relatively softer wrecking balls then.
Isn’t that like eating only dessert? The chef might not approve.
Why would anyone downvote this? Don’t shoot the Cranes you hick dicks. Please.
Or any other animal, while we’re at it.
No one else imagining holding their hand like that when they see the logo? I think it would hurt :/ kind of a turn off
