I installed the update (Build 26200.9278) myself and did not run into either issue.
Anyone else get bothered by publications’ tendency to have headlines misaligned with reality or the article’s content?
I might be splitting hairs here, but the language in the headline is absolute. They were an inclusion of the word “may” away from having a headline that accurately represented the situation.
Wouldn’t bug me so much if it weren’t for the fact that words, language, and conveyance of information weren’t literally these peoples’ jobs.

Remember back in the day, when “don’t update” was the MO for nearly everyone, because of how shitty they all were and how it took several weeks post-update to unfuck it all (not just windows)? Then, updates improved and were solid across the board. We’ve gone back two decades, but for a stupid reason. Vulns are being popped out like bunny babies, and our updates are adding even more. We can’t stop auto update due to those active vulns, but we can’t trust it either lol
How big is the Windows team at Microsoft? Like, I could kinda shrug off this nonsense if it was a solo dev working on a passion project, but how do you push to production something that fairly consistently completely wipes wallpapers?
Do you not have anyone testing these things? Can Microsoft not afford to have a beta channel?

In today’s episode of “Why I refuse to use Windows 11 on my personal machines” - Microsoft breaks personalisation, again, and still haven’t fixed DISM.
Microsoft are doing a brilliant advertisement against their own operating system by breaking it almost every other update. Maybe if they had actual humans doing the job, or at least the QC, things wouldn’t keep breaking on production.
What’s wrong in DISM?
For the last couple of builds, people have been reporting DISM breaking with error 0x800f0915 (essentially it can’t find a valid repair source). Which they still haven’t fixed despite it being known about.
Whenever I read about Windows-updates gone wrong, I smile.
Skip all of them and install Linux. The computer does not belong to microslop. Take back control of the hardware that you own.

Bro every time I use windows 11 something is fucked up and it varies pc to pc and time to time. I only use it for work. All my personal shit, when I get the chance to use it, literally fucking blows me away how responsive it is and not in my face it is. Because it’s Linux.
Yep. I have 1 windows 11 system at home. And I hate using it when I have to. Always some painful update that takes forever. Or intrusive nagging popups trying to sell me something. My main system runs arch. There are updates daily, but its never as derailing as windows updates. Updating is a breeze. No nagging. The system just does what I want. Because I own it fully. It’s fantastic.
On purpose, MS want to use it’s telemetry to log your behaviour when this happens. 😈
