What we saw with Israel was a bunch of Israeli firms rebranding as American companies.
I suspect any attempt to de-couple from Big Tech in Europe will go the same way. You’ll have Øræcle in Sweden and µSoft in Greece and Paulintir in the UK. But the financies will all tie back to the Usual Suspects - Marc Andressen and Gary Tan and Masayoshi Son.
It’s not always about big Sometimes the little things add up. I’ve ditched my company’s Dropbox accounts for Sync, which to the best of my knowledge is Canadian, and done away with my personal free Google drive backup storage to actually pay to use Jottacloud which is Norwegian.
No Facebook or Instagram, or Reddit now that went to shit. Just figuring out my way on here.
No more apple TV, netflix or paramount or purchases from Amazon etc. I’ll go into town now and buy all the screen covers and cables and shit from actual FKN shops instead.
Stopped eating at anything American - never did Macdonald’s anyway but KFC, Popeyes, and all your shite coffee chains have gone out the window.
Gone back to using cash instead of visa and MasterCard debits. Waiting for Wero to come to the UK.
So I expect it to make no difference to how many billions all the US Tech cunts have in their pockets, but at least I get to have a little, warm , fuzzy feeling every time I see a Tesla and shout ‘nazi’ at them, knowing I’m contributing as little as possible to the us economy.
I get that someone, somewhere, up the chain from whatever I buy is a US conglomerate or whatever, but the less I feed in at the bottom the less they get out at the top.
So yh. ‘Big’ tech probably won’t notice. Not for a while anyway. But the shift began when Trump started to wave his fists around and stain the US in his orange shit. And then they voted him in for a second term. So fk 'em.
