lol this is the issue. It’s objectively not dangerous (or at least not more so than driving) but there are certainly some very uncomfortable situations that can happen. And I think a lot of people can’t really tell the difference between “this is an incredibly weird and uncomfortable social interaction” and “my life is in danger”.
I like public transit, but I’ve never had a crazy person try to sit on me in my car either.
