I will never understand this mentality. As an immigrant to Canada myself who is now a citizen, I’m just like the many people right now seeking permanent residency. I’m no more special or qualified than them. The only difference is that the ladder is no longer there.
I certainly would not like it if previous folks pulled up the ladder they used. And therefore I cannot pull up that ladder to others just like myself
Anti-immigrant rhetoric is a pretty mainstream position nationwide at this point.

No way, our bigots hate Asians and brown/middle east people! Their bigotry is truly multicultural.
