even if you were/are in Tech you’d be lucky to A. still have a job at this point and B. be paid well for it. I’ve been in the industry for 20+ years now and the wages just totally stagnated. I went from having more money than I knew what to do with in my 20s to having just enough to ALMOST live comfortably on my own. And I’m kicking myself that I didn’t settle down in my 20s, buy a house then, marry the girl I was seeing then, starting a family then. Like I said I had more money than I could imagine and figured “it’s going to get better from here” and it didn’t. I blew it. wasted it all on devices and pcs i don’t have anymore, videogames, booze, drugs, clothes, etc. Just totally blew it.
I see fresh grads today who are damn lucky to even get a job in this field but they’re being paid peanuts and living in a shoebox apartment or with like 5+ roommates or still living at home with their folks.
