    What was confusing was the example chosen because it is something Lenin had a position on. Which was the opposite of what was shown. I am coming to understand it’s meant as an absurd example to criticize “tankies” but I guess this example only makes sense if you don’t know that.

    I’m also confused about the usage of critical support being contrasted to critical thinking because critical support means applying critical thinking to a situation instead of blanket support. But I guess if you aren’t looking at something with the same values that can be hard to see.

      Lenin agreed with the union, because slavery is bad. Tankies, because they cherry pick the history they pay attention to would likely ignore that and cheer for the Confederacy. It’s what they do. It’s not that confusing.

        I thought tankies was a rude name for Marxist Leninists? I couldn’t tell if the meme was making fun of people who use the term tankie or Marxist Leninists which is why I said I didn’t get it, but I get it now.
