Q doesn’t strike me as a gracious loser, even over petty things like this. Perhaps he made the best of a bad situation.
Despite appearances, Q aren’t all-powerful in every way. Depending on your take, The Sisko is either part Prophet, or is at least backed by The Prophets. Their relationship to time might be an issue for Q.
I love the idea of Q effectively teasing an ant, knowing it won’t even bother trying to hurt him, because it knows it can’t. Only to find himself on his arse with a black eye, thinking WTF just happened… HOW!!!
