I’m tired of unfinished stories, and this one finished in a cliff hanger.
There are many series that end on unsatisfying notes because platforms like to play games with the numbers and I’m sick of getting invested in a show only for them to cancel it because they merged with another company, or were bought out, or stiffed the actors or whatever. If a show was upfront about making it halfway through the story then stopping, would you bother to watch?
I never really liked series because I felt like they either suck their subject bone dry and then kept at it for a few seasons to really get all the juice out of that dry husk, or just get cancelled because they end up being less successful than Lost.
So, yes it’s mostly a broken format. Mini series (like 6 episodes) are much better.
If you don’t watch series just because they’ve been cancelled, it’s going to seriously limit your options.
