I was lucky enough to see The Search for Spock on the last day and the remaster frankly blew me away, the surround sound was fun but what really stood out was the matte painting backgrounds. I’m not sure what magic they did, but every single one was truly breathtaking. It made me sad I didn’t get to see all of them in theaters now.
As far as I can tell, they were only shown in North America and that’s quite a bit too far to travel to watch some Star Trek movies for all but the most dedicated fans, so I guess the answer will be “no” for most people.
Fake fans, imo. Transporters exist.
