Secretary of State Marco Rubio has waived a restriction on $320 million in military aid to Egypt that had been previously withheld over human rights concerns, citing Egypt’s help in dealing with Iran since the conflict began earlier this year.

They control the Suez canal and are critical to stability in the region. Do you have an alternative where a deal is not reached and someone the US gets a better outcome?

Yes. No military aid, no financial aid. Pay Egypt to use their canal, free trade.

      the region has no stability

Stability is possible and should be pursued by every human in every region.

Egypt isn’t in a war but it’s surrounded by conflict created by Israel and the US.

Can’t take that away in an instant but over time sure…

The middle east is full of conflict amongst themselves, too. I can’t begin to list all of the parties involved, but long story short, these countries were “made” without respect to existing tribes and political divisions. Look at everyone involved in the Syrian civil war, for example; USA, Israel, Iran, Russia, Islamic state, Turkey, Hezbollah, Syrian Arab, Syrian Democratic, Kurds, and more.

It’s never been without conflict in my lifetime at least, maybe the Ottoman Empire was quieter
