The fact of the matter is the people picked Trump this election, if nothing else arresting him will only galvanize his followers and legitimatize their own turn to fascism. There’s no good outcome in this scenario, we missed that opportunity on election night. It sucks but right now we’re the kid playing with fire; obviously we need to learn the hard way. We should’ve learned from the last trump presidency you say? Yeah, we really, really should’ve.

Okay but YouTube suggested videos are genuinely way worse than they used to be. I can’t even fall down rabbit holes anymore. Trying to “curate” the algorithm is like swimming against the current. I can try and try to get YouTube to recommend me live music, but even when I manage to find something, the next video is going to be either a video I already watched yesterday or Rick Beato’s daily rant about the top 40. Every time.

I used to be able to spend hours just browsing, drifting from topic to topic. Now it’s like they’re trying to trap me in a loop of their most profitable videos

Lies and statistics. Out of the last 7 elections they also won 3. And out of the last 3 they only won 1. Really it’s a pretty even split so far this century, and counting this last election Republicans have had the edge. So sure the dnc isn’t losing all of their elections, but ffs sake they should be doing a lot better than this.

…between the branches of government, which the R’s just swept. Add in the fact that the supreme Court just gave the president criminal immunity if it’s “official” (a term they define), and who exactly is going to check and balance?

I figured the outcome of this election would be one of three things:

1. Harris wins decisively
2. Harris wins by the skin of her teeth after a couple weeks of recounts and lawsuits
3. Trump wins by the skin of his teeth after a couple weeks of recounts and lawsuits, and maybe a riot

I didn’t really consider the fourth option because Trump’s never won the popular vote before and it seemed like there was more excitement for Harris than Biden, at least up until the last month. So I’m actually blindsided by the fact that it turned out to be:

4. Trump wins decisively

He didn’t do any better than he ever has, it’s just that nobody showed up for Harris.

Edit: plus the fact that the R’s seem to have every branch of government. This really couldn’t have gone much worse

Similar here actually. I usually try to vote by mail, but by the time I finally got registeration and residency handled after 2 online registrations and two visits to the elections office, early voting was over, so I had to go to the polls on election day

It’s mostly white though, so that checks out
