This is great news! I appreciate how Reddit is taking the initiative to spread awareness of the Fediverse. Bravo to them!

For starters don’t call women females. Yes it’s technically accurate or whatever but that’s beside the point.
Generally avoid complimenting their physique or appearance. Other than that, just be nice to them the way you are with your friends and be platonic by default. “Cool shoes.”
But like, also be genuine about it. If they aren’t cool shoes then don’t say they’re cool shoes. Find something else that’s cool.

Any good thing is ruined once it’s co-opted by capitalism.
AI and LLMs (In my very very personal and completely subjective opinion) is the coolest shit humanity has ever invented and under the right system would’ve been unanimously celebrated.
But noooooooo, capitalism had to go and fucking turn a miraculous tool for human creativity and knowledge into a relentless driver of layoffs, corporate slop and copyright theft because some greedy fucks want more money for themselves than they know what to do with.
But, well, that’s just, like, my opinion, man.

I appreciate the heads-up, and honestly the original reddit community was pretty much completely dead as well, so I’m not really expecting much to come of it. I’m mainly creating this and some other communities here because there are subreddits dedicated to them, but since I don’t want to use reddit I’m creating them here instead. Whether they’re much busier if at all is not an expectation for me, i’d just like to centralize my communities here moving forward ^-

Yes, it’s the PS2/GC game from the early 2000’s. As far as I am aware the scene is pretty much completely dead. The latest re-release was on the Nintendo Switch on the 28th of March 2019, and someone submitted a new WR 5 months ago on the Xbox Series S. So there’s still a pulse, but not much of one lol. This game just has a special place in my heart and I wanted to see if anyone else here actually remembers it or still holds the same reverence for it as I do

When I’m scrolling any feed, whenever I see a post I don’t want to see, I block that community or add a keyword to my filters.
So far I’ve blocked over a hundred communities and it’s killed most of the adrenal rage-bait political posts that don’t do anything other than rile me up. It’s one thing to be aware of shitty things happening but it’s another thing to doomscroll just for the adrenaline hit, and as a person with general anxiety I want to feel better after scrolling rather than worse
