I’m not gonna pretend it’s easy, but it is doable if you really want to.
The missus moved here with her child a few years ago. Uprooted everything and started over.
Good luck wherever you end up!

I fucking love you!
CDG airport. I hate that place so much.
Heathrow, Schiphol and Frankfurt are all so much easier to navigate.
On a serious note though: I’ve never bern anywhere in Europe that I straight up disliked. Sanremo was probably the «least friendly» with locals all pushing us towards the casino at every oportunity. The city was also surprisingly worn down.
The local market was awesome though.
What did you get, internet stranger?
Yeah it costs, depending on quality of course.
My 14 TB disks are filling up faster than I expected and I am not close to Netflix’s catalogue.
Are you playing directly on your server?
For the first one at least you could solve it by running JF with a Chromecast or similar device.
Feels cleaner than a wireless mouse in the living room too, IMO
Quiet and peaceful.
If I could be rich but nobody knew, then sure.
Not into flashy things anyways
Poor wording on my part.
It still functions, but I don’t get push notification when it detects motion or someone rings the bell while I’m out. I will see the recording once I’m on my local network again.
Not exactly what you asked for, but I went with Eufy with local storage. There is a home base so everything is stored here and not in the cloud. Costs a bit more but gives me peace of mind.
Downside is that it won’t work if my internet or power is out, but that happens once a year, max.
For door I’d go with Yale with the hub to lock and unlock remotely.
Don’t know of a combined solution, sadly.
Luckily no, not all do.
We specifically chose a car with normal handles because ice/snow is a bitch with the motorized/flush ones
Yeah I agree, would be nice if the sold packs were as easy to replace as the leased ones are, but I doubt it.
I hope other makers come with a similar solution in the future. Being such a vital part and known to slowly degrade it should be easier to replace.
We agree on every point except Apple products slowing down significantly faster than Android. My personal experience has been the polar oposite.
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Hey man, I’m an Android dude for phones. Won’t even consider an iPhone as I dislike locked ecosystems for phones, but this is just not true.
Apple supports their devices way longer than any of the major Android producers do. I can’t remember the last time my phone was supported more than 3-4 years, but my iPad was just rock solid and updated for 6 years. Replaced it because I wanted more RAM for scrolling endlessly on Reddit, but it was brilliant for everything else. My daughter still uses it with no issues today, two tears later.
The missus’ Samsung tablet on the other hand…
What a piece of crap, and it was top of the line just three years ago.
This already exists.
Look up Nio. They already have fully automatic battery swapping stations for cars leasing the pack. You literally swap the whole pack instead of charging when it’s empty.
Takes less than 10 minutes
I’m still a beginner but Mint Cinnamon has treated me well, as has my Debian server.
Don’t see any reason to test anything else as long as it works this well. Nor do I have time after the kids came either…
For me it’s been the stability of our sever.
It’s run by a private person on nothing but goodwill and interest, which I was afraid would only last a few months. He (and the other admins) have done an incredible job keeping things running smoothly and with a very level headed approach to content filtering and general rules.
You all deserve a massive round of applause from all of us benefitting with zero work.
Fuuuuuuuck, you made have the same realization.
Ditched W10 for Mint
Bought a NAS and set up all .arrs and cancelled all my subscriptions (- Spotify)
Home media server with Jellyfin
Shared said server with friends and family via Tailscale
Set up my very first server on a low end device running headless Debian, all from scratch with docker and Portainer. Currently running a Valheim server
All this with 0 previous Linux experience. Reddit beeing cunts made me learn a lot of cool new things these part 12 months!
Ebenfalls!

Appreciate the well written response.
I disagree though. Sure, racism is just a word we made up, as are all words, but words must have fixed a fixed meaning or else they stop making sense or end up inaccurate. For racism, at least according to Miriam-Webster which I hope we can agree is a serious source, the word is defined as to discriminate, oppress, hold prejudice or produce a superior trait in a certain race. Rough snippet as I am on mobile, but feel free to read the definition in more detail.
Nobody with the ability to digest lactose feel superior to those who cannot. Nobody is discriminated against because they cannot digest it.
Nobody really cares.
And because it is in no way bound to a particular race only, it just cannot be racism. Using that word here waters out the definition of it.
I am probably beating a dead horse here, but it has been bothering me for a while that the bar to throw this word at someone is not just low; it’s completely gone, and that is indicative of a serious problem.
Calling someone a racist is supposed to be a serious accusation.
I’m just a random guy arguing with a stranger online. It’s a waste of both my time and his as neither of us will change our minds. I just needed to vent a little and speak up against those who, in my humble opinion, willfully and maliciously sour the debate climate. It’s beyond rude to call someone that without it being true.
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
We all have mate. That doesn’t make you a bad person.
Just strive to do a little better every day
