This was 1995; sexuality was a “new” topic. Identifying as anything other than straight could literally cost you your life. It was 2 years before Ellen would come out publicly on TV because she feared losing her show and 3 years before Matthew Shepard was tortured and dragged to death for being gay.
A lot of boomers believed and probably still believe that being bisexual was the lazy way of not making a choice. The 90s are pretty romanticized now but it was a scary time for a lot of LGBTIA+ folks.
That was pretty much true for the general public. No /s needed.
5·2 months agoIn the Star Trek universe transporters were invented in 2124. The grandparents wouldn’t have been alive to vote for Trump, unless there is another Trump in Star Trek canon I dont know about.

They are saying that they think recruitment in the US military is down because young people are seeing what Donald Trump (senile Caligula) is doing and don’t want to help his administration advance its unlawful cause (commit war crimes).

Not sure I understand your comment. Maybe mine wasn’t clear either. The question was: What keeps Americans from being mad about the state of their country? My clarified response is: Because most Americans are racist and voted for a racist and they’re not mad because the current state of their country is exact what they want.
Maybe not a nuianced or particularly fair response but, regardless, I’m not sure what that has to do with my behavior or feelings.
They’re rasict and it’s exactly what they want.
