This will probably sound rude, but I don’t mean it to be: what is the point of this comment?

I agree with you that America as a whole deserves whatever it is getting right now, but I also believe collective punishment is immoral. Everyone who voted against this doesn’t deserve it, that doesn’t mean anyone else has an obligation to save them from it, but they definitely don’t deserve it.

So why laugh at Americans, or rub this in their faces? Especially here on this platform where almost everyone is directly opposed to the current administration, and didn’t vote for it. If you were saying this to Trump supporters I guess I could understand it, but it still wouldn’t help anything.

So I’m genuinely curious, do you think this kind of comment helps anything? If so, what?
