Also, notice the slight curvature of the vertical lines to the right? It implies the fact that even new circumstances can, in retrospect, feel like they’ve always been there. It’s the lovely little details that make this piece so valuable.
Had me in the first half ngl
Not like they wouldn’t learn anyways. Learning to lie is an important part in development.
Wait a minute… Does the name of the currency come from payments that were not counted but weighed? Gotta check.
ETA: Oh my gosh yes, one pound sterling (currency) was originally one pound (weight) of sterling silver. I’m probably the last person to discover this, but still that’s pretty cool.
Also I feel like the French really appreciate it if you try. Or at least hate you a little less. In my experience, after showing off my best (still bad) bonjours and mercis all of the people I talked to turned a lot friendlier and were even willing to speak a little English.
I’m absolutely a dog person, still I wouldn’t allow dogs in my bedroom, let alone on the bed. While the first is just a bit bothersome, I think the second one to be pretty icky.
I remember 20 years ago my parents had this tray in their fridge. Haven’t seen that ever since.
Today I did, indeed, only need a light jacket.
Imagine thinking a hobby needed to be useful.
And then, if you’re willing to try, take a look at yourself on the mirror and say one thing you like about yourself, right now. It can be ever so tiny, as in “I actually stood up to do this, which is cool I guess”. Just take a little moment and be kind to yourself. It may feel silly at first, but noone knows about it and a little kindness never hurt nobody. And one day you might even believe the nice things you say.
Equality means everybody has the same rights and gets the same chances. It’s about the starting point, not what you make out of it. Egality on the other hand is about the outcome. Basically everything would need to be the same. Which is (almost) never the case and hopefully what you’re referring to here.
There’s a difference between equality and egality.
My partner is convinced he doesn’t like mushrooms. If only he knew that most of his favorite dishes are full of finely grated ones.
People forget it’s not just the shipping itself. First of all, ships just like every other vehicle need more energy to move the heavier they are. Secondly the ice needs to be cooled for most of the trip and portable coolers are real energy guzzlers. So without doing the maths transporting ice from Greenland to Dubai is much more harmful than ships with empty containers on the same way.
Wasn’t able to identify the left flag, so I made a (rather lame) joke instead of asking directly. Thanks for clarifying!
Is this some kind of American joke that I’m too European to understand?
Tbf medieval pictures aren’t exactly known for their great use of perspective and proportions
Chiming in for clarification: Literally it’s “bell game” but the word’s meaning is more like “bells that play” or “bells to play with”.
