Those are called Kitlers.

Those are called Kitlers.
I think I have watched that through about 3 or 4 times now, and then I found out my sister has done the same.

Our manager tried, a few times, but the process got blocked further up.
I would have started as perm but there was some odd internal policy and the person who hired me in, a friend of a friend, mentioned that HR do not like it when someone gets hired and get a salary that is more than 15% of their previous salary.
I fell into that category, but they were willing to pay a day rate that ended up well exceeding what they would have paid me as perm… probably about 30%+. But then it would have been more difficult to get rid of me.
So the plan was to get me in as contract, get a decent day rate and then move over to perm after 6 months and use that day rate to negotiate a decent salary. Then the boss of that area changed, and when he came on he said he was not going to make changes, just observe. A total lie that is obviously a lie.

I was working as a contractor for a company, and two of us were told that we’d be moved to permanent roles but it kept getting blocked higher up.
It then became obvious why, because then they announced they are cutting all contractors and I heard they were moving our roles to a region where it’s cheaper to pay salaries.
Then we all get called into this large meeting with our team members and some adjacent teams as some form of farewell. The meeting host starts off with something like, we have a few people that will be leaving us soon so let’s go around and share some happy memories and what you enjoyed about working for [Company Name].
Yeah I just straight up left the meeting at that point.

My cat used to make sure she got my attention before she ate from the bowl next to my PC on my desk and then would purr up a storm when I pet her while eating.
She would also sit in the bath tub and watch me the whole time I was in the bathroom and then sleep on my pyjama pants that I tossed on the floor when I showered.
I miss that little goober.

A friend of mine had to use Starlink when he lived out in the sticks, near farmland.
I do wireless designs and surveys for a living, and I still prefer my cables. Wireless internet for me is a last resort if you cannot get some form of cabled internet.
My friend told me about the jitter and the spikes in latency, but also if the weather was too bad or really cloudy then his connection would be too bad to even browse.
I’ll gladly sit on my VDSL line instead of Starlink and have a stable connection.
Also it means not funding Musk in anyway.
Classic Cisco design.

I dreaded seeing that Hermes was delivering my package when I ordered something, it was most likely going to get lost, delayed or damaged.
Changing the name to Evri changed nothing, still the worst delivery company I have come across.
A guy I worked with had a lot of orders delivered by Hermes and he said most of his deliveries arrived opened.

I’ve seen some level 3000+ players as far back as months ago, but I think they glitched/exploited that level.
The highest legit levels I have seen are about 500 - 650 or so, 500 is when their icon turns gold.
It’s a real slog at times, but I will sometimes just do the weekly challenges and stop. Timed challenges really make the game feel like a chore.
The game feels really unbalanced as well, so many rounds it’s one team completely stomping the other and it’s not even close. Often 900 tickets to 0.
My friends and I had an evening like that as well, 3 times our team won by holding all the objectives and the game ended early. That’s no fun.
Side note, games like BF6 that cannot run in Linux are also what keep me from migrating to a Linux distro. I’d be off Windows in a second if all games ran on it no issues.
This stuff was delicious.

I grew up on Larson comics, a friend had a copy of a Far Side Gallery book.
I blame him for a lot of my sense of humour.
The picture frame on the wall…
I hope they forget they are wearing them when they go to the bathroom.
