Did you even read the article? The article says the plan includes raises for the lower and middle paid employees that is being paid for by cuts to the upper executives. So they’re doing exactly what you proposed

If they were smart they’ll make sure it does. I have done this before…tried a game by pirating, bought it, realized my save doesn’t work, refunded it, and just went back to playing the pirated copy. You could take that route too just make sure you’re buying on a platform that will allow you to refund no questions asked within a certain period
