Ironic from the Sierra Club whose decades of disinformation about nuclear power, acceptance of coal to stop it and hydro, and secret donations from natural gas producer Chesapeake from 2007 to 2010 accelerated the climate crisis.

Unprecedented? It’s going to be the lowest figure for the next 50 years unless France gets serious about air conditioning and climate change.

There is plenty of coal all over the the US. There isn’t demand for it as its power is too expensive.
Per the latest Lazard LCOE, solar + storage, wind (onshore) + storage, and gas combined cycle are all cheaper than coal.

The exact figures:
735.5 MW AC 2,942 MWh
Verified from Minnesota PUC and EQB.
Almost all heat pumps also use fans. It’s simply more efficient.
The difference in your diagrams is not related to heat pump/AC, but forced air v. water.
I hesitate to contradict you but they really are. Many use more efficient parts, but the mechanism is the same.
There is no alternative in hot, humid regions (cryopaint is not proven). In dry ones swamp cooling and fans help.
However, I’m not sure many people are saying air conditioning is a solution to climate change.
Many are saying it’s an adaptation necessary to survive in warming humid regions. The human body cannot thermoregulate in wet bulb temperatures above 35c. Fans don’t help as the body cannot evaporate sweat into saturated air that is as warm or warmer. Air conditioning not only cools, but removes humidity.
If you get a severe case of influenza, it comes with a fever. The fever is a symptom, not the underlying cause of the illness, but it can kill faster. As a result, you need to treat it as well as the flu, often with acetaminophen. Air conditioning does not treat the underlying cause, but it can mitigate the symptom that kills fastest.

Sure it does. It can send help.

I cannot stress enough that Canada is a sovereign country and not under the jurisdiction of the EPA.

It’s incredible Republicans seem to develop morals once they lose their primaries or are out of office.

I think he might have been into tbat.

We missed that opportunity. I will now go my life wondering what could have been if I left my wife and kids, and started anew with the foot freak in seat 23A.

I legitimately think he would have liked that.

Not a single open seat on the flight.
I was with my family, so I simply adopted a wide stance.

Oh it wasn’t staged.
I would say I don’t know the guy, but given his foot poked and carressed my leg at various points during the flight, I would argue we are at some greater level of intimacy.

I only submitted it once but noticed it took an exceptionally long time. Apologies.

It’s not either/or but all of the above if we want to minimize death.

Probably close to $1,500.
This is not correct. The human population continues to grow and is anticipated to continue for 30-50 years.
The UN estimates 10.3-10.4B in the 2080s. The US Census 10.6B in 2092. The lower end is Wittgenstein/IIASA SSP1 at 8.8B in 2055.
