It still feels like ours has wood paneling or something, but even that would be too '70s, which would still be a little cool. Maybe ours is too '90s? Our cyberpunk somehow still feels too analogue and not enough.

That’s what I don’t get though, a good thing is a good thing. It’s like when they pretended the ACA was something else instead of “obamacare” so they’d like it… We weren’t all “Ohhhhh you stuuuuuuupid Republicans, you love the ACA but it’s actually (drumroll) Obamacare in disguise!!” we were just happy more people had access to Healthcare that wasn’t going to bankrupt them.

This is not an “individual action will solve this” case anymore. WE can’t do jack about it, individually. If we get the corporations to stop doing harm, and the rich cut down traveling in their superjets, maybe then. But some schmuck driving a Toyota corolla a few hundred miles on a vacation, or taking a commercial passenger jet on a vacation with 100-some-odd people isn’t the problem here.

Someone mentioned an app for this, there’s also one called Paprika 3 that does something similar. This one you don’t need an account to store recipes though. It can also translate weight to imperial measurements, and solve ingredient quantities for portions like 1/2, etc.

Also generally you can hit the in-page “print” button and the print version is often a one-sheet that cuts out the “my family xyz” bs. To be fair, some of those have real tips or hints or substitutions they don’t include in the recipe proper, but a lot of the time it’s just fluff as you can’t copyright recipes without significant extra steps and exposition.

Well… Yeah. It’s a headset that you wear on your head. They’re really uncomfortable. How do you not get a headache from them? How are you supposed to play a game for any meaningful amount of time? I seriously have never see a headset that wasn’t a flop or a regretted purchase for it’s audience. The “metaverse” crashed and burned, if VR was such a promising innovation, wouldn’t it have done well?

VR is just the new version of the same thing that was happening with every iteration of “3D” whatever over the past 80 years or so. It’s always the next best thing and right around the corner, but in this instance the premise is just flawed. A lot of people are still “social” when they game, talking to family, texting people, pausing to watch a video or go get something to eat.

Edit: And just looking up the ram: 16 gigs?? Aside from that, it’s intended for streaming games from a main pc, do most people even have internet that’s fast enough to handle that? Iirc in the US at least the government and companies have been dodging defining what “high speed” is because most of the country doesn’t have access to it. And the resolution specs seem great, but what FPS would it be at? I gotta hazard a guess that it’d be at 30 or so for most modern games.

Frontier model? The most recent one was so good the government had to step in. An AGI can never really happen because of situations like that. Add to that the rogue Ai attack that happened, and the future for these things seems to be quite limited. In a regular regulatory framework this whole field would have been legislated and limited enough that that we wouldn’t have Ai escaping, and wouldn’t have people being able to use it nefaurously. This is why there won’t be a “frontier model.” Because these failures will happen, databases will get dumped accidentally, all that. Because there are no guardrails, there’s no point in innovating.

Umm, bud, get that money out now? It’s commonly advised to not bet anything you need, or use it as a savings account. Especially not now, before it was barely somewhat possible when things were stable, but not now. And with your down payment? Pretty serious stuff to lose just because some jabroni sends a tweet or didn’t bribe the administration enough. Things can go right, yeah, but think about how wrong things can go, and how fast, and how much more likely that is than making… What? 1k or something, at most? Naah, naah. You can just negotiate a better price for the house to make up for the difference.
