Thank you for the background information. I didn’t know where the drawing was published. But that doesn’t change my opinion. The symbolism is clear. It would be interesting to have a historian research who the author of the drawing is and find out more about this person. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that it was influenced by National Socialist ideas from the outset.

A classic anti-Semitic inflammatory image. Israel and Jews are portrayed as an octopus. Capitalism is equated with “world Jewry”. The “SS” in Class is depicted like the “SS” rune, the “Schutzstaffel” in the “Third Reich”.

Since 1948 Mayors of Munich were members of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. Just one exception, Erich Kiesl (CSU) 1978-1984.
