It failed for multiple reasons, but a big reason was that they tried to outsource the hardware and basically just got reskins of existing gaming-PC prebuilds, which didn’t actually make PCs any less confusing. And they didn’t actually save money (and some were overpriced scams) so buyers were basically forced to do as much research as buying an actual gaming PC.

All of that will be solved, and the software/UX/other stuff you mentioned are far more mature, like you say.

Theoretically people could use it for a cheap non-gaming PC, except the cheapest non-gaming PC would be non-gaming specs.

Anyone using it for cheap crypto-mining is an idiot, the cheap option there is a rack full of bang-for-buck GPUs.

A Traditional City Primer

To be fair, streetcars were sometimes a grift that weren’t intended to work in the first place. Not all, but some.

See, electric companies pushed for new suburbs to be built with electric streetcars, because if you need to put in all the wiring for a streetcar, you might as well just electrify the entire suburb while you’re at it. Which is what electric companies wanted; the streetcars were just an excuse to get the wiring in. They didn’t actually care if the streetcars made sense or stuck around, as long as the electric wiring stayed put.

So electric companies would happily push for nonsensical streetcar layouts that maximised the number of electrified households, and then someone else would come along and say “this is idiotic, let’s rip it up” (possibly because it’s true, possibly because car/oil $$$) and the electric companies wouldn’t push back, because they didn’t care either way in the first place.

Does the head dong thing get sunburned? Does it convey a lot of heat?

The point of a hat is to 1) keep sun out of eyes, and 2) keep the head cool by blocking the thermal radiation that is sunlight.

So, picture 2 fails at both of those. Picture 1 is fine if the head dong thing is just unsunburnable horn and self-regulates its own temperature, plus it’s less prone to being blown off by the wind.

If the head dong thing needs to keep cool then picture 3 is the way to go.
